New Delhi: A Congress MP could not stand a democratic criticism of his leader Rahul Gandhi in the Lok Sabha today, when Union Minister, Dr. Harsh Vardhan, chastised Rahul Gandhi for his ‘danda’ remark against Prime Minister, Narendra Modi.
Congress MP Manickam Tagore rushed towards the Union Minister while the later was making a speech criticising the Gandhi scion. Before Manickam Tagore could harm the Minister, he was restrained by other party members.
However, BJP MP Nishikant Dubey rushed towards the spot in a bid to defend the Union Minister from harm. Other members of the House quickly came to intervene and was able to break the suffle.
Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla adjourned the House.
Reacting to the issue, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Prahlad Joshi said, “After Rahul Gandhi’s instigation, they thought of showing the ‘danda’ way. This was an attempt to manhandle Dr Harshvardhan. This shows the frustration level of Congress and is the height of gundaism.”
