Bhopal: The twenty two Congress MLAs, who resigned from their post after their leader Jyotiraditya Scindia resigned from the Congress party, have joined the BJP. Their resignations had led to the fall of the Congress government led by Kamal Nath.
BJP National President, J. P. Nadda, welcomed the entire rebel MLAs into the party. Jyotiraditya Scindia and BJP leader Vijayvargiya were also present when the MLAs joined the saffron party.
The BJP might field them in the coming by-elections to the constituencies vacated by these MLAs.
The Election Commission will announce the dates of the by election once the emergency of COVID-19 is over.
