New Delhi: Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Monday announced that the Cabinet has approved for an honorary amount of Rs 1 crore to the family of murdered Intelligence Bureau (IB) officer Ankit Sharma this week.

Kejriwal tweeted, ” IB Officer Late Ankit SHarma was brutally killed in Dehi violence. We had declared an honorary amount of Rs 1 crore to his family. The Cabinet has approved for the same today. The approval was delayed due to COVID-19. We are hopeful that the family of the deceased will get the amount in this week.”

Sharma was brutally killed before dumping his body in a drain during North-East Delhi riots in February.
