New Delhi: In the recent revelation by the Army sources, India and China had at least three firing incidents between their troops in Eastern Ladakh in the last 20 days, which was not seen in the last 45 years.
“The first incident happened when the Indian Army preempted the Chinese attempt to occupy heights near Southern Bank of Pangong lake between August 29-31 while the second incident occurred near Mukhpri height on September 7,” Army sources said.
The third incident occurred on September 8 near the northern bank of Pangong lake where both sides fired more than 100 rounds as the Chinese side was behaving in a very aggressive manner, Army sources added.
It is to be noted that these incidents were happening when India’s Foreign Minister S Jaishankar was in Moscow for the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation meeting. He had met Chinese counterpart to put forward the ongoing tussle on the border.
Several rounds of military and diplomatic level talks have been held since April-May but has not produced any positive result.
