New Delhi: Central Government on Friday announced that the Covid Vaccination will begin in the country from 16 this month. 3 crore health care and front line workers will be vaccinated in the first phase. The decision was taken by the high-level committee chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
The government has said that in the first phase, the vaccine will be given to 30 crore people over the age of 50 and those under the age of 50 with other illnesses.
The high-level meeting convened today assessed the corona outbreak situation in the country and the steps taken by various states for the distribution of the vaccine. The meeting was attended by the Cabinet Secretary, the Principal Secretary to the Prime Minister, the Health Secretary and other senior officials.
