US Vice President-elect Kamala Harris’s native village at Tamil Nadu gears up for celebration

Nagapattinam [Tamil Nadu]: the native village of the US Vice President-elect Kamala Devi Harris, is all set to celebrate her swearing in. The Thulasenthirapuram village in Nagapattinam, where Mrs. Harris was born, were seen making a traditional recipe ‘murukku’ to celebrate the win. People were seen cleaning the road and flowering the corners and prayers were offered in the village temple for the first woman Vice President of the United States.

Credits: ANI”Today all the people in the village are very happy as our Kamala di is all set to become the Vice President of the United States. We all are very excited. She has surely inspired many women in the village”, said Sivaranjini, a woman from the village in a statement to news agency ANI.

Kamala Harris, the first Indian-American and Asian American to occupy the second-highest US office, will swear in today as the 49th Vice President of the United States in the inaugural ceremony held in the West Fort of the US Capitol.
