Khadi and Village Industries Commission (KVIC) supplied 850 Khadi silk sarees to Delhi Police.
“The purchase order for Khadi sarees was placed by Delhi Police for the front desk women executives who deal with general public on a daily basis. This will enhance Khadi’s visibility,” said KVIC Chairman Vinai Kumar Saxena.
The Delhi Police had provided sample and it was accordingly developed by KVIC and approved by Delhi Police. The consignment worth Rs. 25 lakh has been delivered to Delhi Police in less than 2 months after receiving the purchase order.
The sarees are made of high quality Tasar-Katia silk and have been woven by traditional artisans in West Bengal who specialise in making the sarees.
