Jammu: 16.45 lakh pilgrims pay obeisance at Mata Vaishno Devi in first four months

More that 16 lakh pilgrims paid obeisance at Shri Mata Vaishno Devi located in Trikuta Hills of Reasi district of Jammu and Kashmir.

An official said that in the first two months of this year, pilgrimage increased and the daily figure touched 15000 to 20000.

“With second COVID wave, the figure has decreased manifold and the total number of pilgrims visited the cave shrine in first four months was 16,45,333,” they said.

They further added that in January, a total of 40,8861 devotees reached the Bhawan, in February, 3,89,549 devotees, in March, 5,25,198 and in the month of April, a total of 3,21,725 ​​pilgrims paid obeisance at the cave shrine.

“Presently, only 800 to 1000 devotees are visiting the cave shrine,” they said adding that on April 30, only 700 devotees had paid the obeisance and 1400 hours on May 1, around 400 devotees had left towards the Bhawan
