The Karnataka government has increased the quantum of rice distributed to BPL card holders to 10 kg due to lockdown imposed in the State to curb the second wave of Covid-19.
In a statement issued here Minister for Food and Civil Supplies Umesh Kathi said that the distribution is under process for the months of May and June. The BPL card holders will get 10 kg of rice instead of five kg free of cost while for the APL holders will get rice at the Rs 15 per kg up to ten kg.
He said under the Prime Minister Garabhi scheme during the May and June BPL card holders will get five kg pulses, five kg rice and two kg wheat while those who the Antyodaya card holders will get 35 kgs of pulses, five kgs of rice, he added
