PM condoles demise of Kashi Annapurna Temple Mahant Shri Rameshwar Puri ji

New Delhi, Jul 10 (UNI):   Prime Minister Narendra Modi has expressed deep grief over the passing away of Kashi Annapurna Temple Mahant Shri Rameshwar Puri ji and said that his demise is an irreparable loss to the society.

In a tweet, the Prime Minister said, “Deeply saddened by the demise of Mahant Rameshwar Puri ji of Kashi Annapurna Temple. His passing is an irreparable loss to the society. He constantly inspired people for social work by connecting religion and spirituality with social service. Om Shanti!”

Mahant Puri, 67, was ill since several weeks.

He was chief trustee of Annapurna Annakshetra Trust at Varanasi and PM Modi had appreciated him for the service done to countless people during the lockdown period after the outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic last year.

He sent separate letters of appreciation to the head priest of Maa Annapurna Mandir and mahant Rameshwar Puri and chief trustee of Kashi Annapurna Annakshetra Trust Jeevnandan Jha expressing his gratitude for their service to mankind.
