New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will travel to Japan to take part in the G7 and Quad summit on Friday. PM will also visit countries like Papua New Guinea and Australia in the six-day long foreign visit.
PM Modi will first visit Japan to take part in the G7 summit, where he will address the summit about the challenges the world faces in sectors of food, fertilizers and energy security. The PM is also set to visit the city of Hiroshima, which will make him the first PM to visit the city after nuclear tests in Pokhran.
Post the G7 summit, PM Modi will descent to Port Moresby in Papua New Guinea. The PM will then meet with Papua New Guinean PM James Marape and will attend the Forum for India-Pacific Islands cooperation (FIPIC) summit. PM Modi will be the first Prime Minister to ever visit Papua New Guinea.
PM Modi will then visit Australia from 23-24 May to attend the Quad summit. Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese, US President Joe Biden and Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida will be a part of the summit. Discussions to strengthen the ties between the four nations would be part of the summit.
