Kolkata: The Border Security Force (BSF) seized gold worth ₹86 lakhs and Bangladeshi currency notes worth ₹6 lakhs in the Nadia district of West Bengal, which is at the India-Bangladesh border. The BSF conducted the search after a tip-off.
These were the gold and taka that were being smuggled into India from Bangladesh. The seized gold weighs 1390 grammes, which is worth ₹86, 04,100.
The confiscated products, according to BSF authorities, were sent over to the customs office in Banpur, Nadia, for further legal action. They are also conducting a search to find the smugglers.
