New Delhi: The National Commission for Women (NCW) chairperson Rekha Sharma said that the brutal murder of a girl by her boyfriend in Delhi is extremely shocking and disturbing. “It is a very shocking and unfortunate incident. There were several people at the spot when the incident took place but no one took any action. I think people of Delhi are highly insensitive,” she said .The NCW chairperson, condemned the crime and has written to Delhi Police Commissioner to conduct a fair and timely investigation and to arrest the accused as soon as possible.
A three-member team headed by the commission member Delina Khongdup has been formed to investigating the case. The team will visit the victim’s family and meet the concerned Police officials for further investigation. The commission has also asked to include relevant sections in the FIR if the allegations made are found to be true.
The NCW chairperson came to know about the murder of the minor girl through media reports. It is reported that the accused repeatedly stabbed the victim with a knife and then struck her with a rock. The incident took place at the Shahabad dairy area of Rohini in Delhi.
