Jammu & Kashmir: Situation in Kashmir seems to be at a tipping point after Former Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir and Chief of People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Mehbooba Mufti issued a warning if Article 35A, which grants special privileges to Jammu and Kashmir, was “attacked”.
Her strong warning comes a day after she tweeted that any tampering with Article 35A could nullify the Treaty of Ascension. Today, she raised her tempo and threatened the NDA Government not to play with fire. She warned that the situation could turn worse and said, “you will see what you haven’t seen since 1947”.
The PDP leader said that if Supreme Court gives a verdict against Article 35A, then people of Kashmir will be “forced” to pick up a flag other than the tricolor flag of India.
The Supreme Court has listed the plea challenging the constitutional validity for hearing between February 26 and 28.
