Bhubaneswar: Railway Minister, Ashwini Vaishnaw, said that the cause of the train accident and those responsible for it have been identified. The Minister was reviewing the restoration work at the Balasore train accident site on Sunday. The devastating accident claimed the lives of 288 passengers and injured over 1000 people.

Ashwini Vaishnaw, while speaking to ANI News said that the commissioner of railway safety has investigated the matter and identified the cause of the incident and the people responsible for it.

The Minister revealed that the accident was caused due to a change in electronic interlocking. He said that the focus right now is on the restoration and the target is to finish work by Wednesday morning.

Ashwini Vaishnaw said, “Prime Minister Narendra Modi inspected the site yesterday. We will try to restore the track today. All bodies have  been removed. Our target is to finish the restoration work by Wednesday morning so that the trains can start running on this track.”
