West Bengal: In a clear sign that BJP is on the ascent in West Bengal, two leaders from Congress and one from Trinamool Congress joined the BJP on Monday.

Spelling trouble for the Congress two senior leaders – AICC Committee member Dr. Gautam Ghosh and Kolkata Congress Committee General Secretary Rakesh Kumar Singh – had deflected to the BJP.

Senior BJP leader Mukul Roy revealed that Gautam Ghosh had worked in the core committee of Rahul Gandhi.

The TMC leader who joined BJP today was Devjani Dasgupta who headed the legal cell of the Trinamool Congress party.

While accepting the leaders in to the BJP fold, Mukul Roy said that many others leaders including MPs and MLAs were in contact with him ready to join BJP.

BJP General Secretary Kailash Vijayvargiya remarked, ” After the implementation of Model Code of Conduct, we expect that democracy will  be reinstated in the State. A lot of senior leaders of TMC and junior party workers are going to join BJP.”

The BJP leader accused that there is police rule in West Bengal under Mamata Banerjee. He accused that the police follows those who join the BJP from another party and slaps false cases against them.

He stressed that he will ask the Election Commission to take necessary action against the police atrocity.
