Poonch: Speculations were rife when two Pakistani Air Force jets flew near the Line of Control at supersonic speeds creating sonic booms on Tuesday night.
The jets flew over POK in Poonch sector, 10 km from the LOC and were detected by Indian radars and other defence systems. High alert is maintained across the border since the IAF conducted a daring airstrike at Jais-e-Mohammad’s terror camps in Balakot.
After the airstrikes, Pakistan tried to retaliate with F-16s but was thwarted by IAF. Since then Indian air defence systems shot down several Pakistani drones that crossed Indian air space.
Indian Air Force has maintained a constant vigil and has not lowered the guard across the border.
