Lucknow: Congress has been snubbed yet again by SP and BSP leaders for trying to create confusion among the people by spreading rumours that the party was in an alliance with them.

Congress on Sunday had said that they would not contest in 7 Lok Sabha seats in for the SP, BSP and RLD combine.

However, Mayawati retorted that Congress is free to contest in all 80 seats of Uttar Pradesh and did not need the help of Congress to defeat BJP. She also asked Congress not to spread rumours by leaving 7 seats because the SP-BSP has no alliance with the grand old party.

Mayawati tweeted, “SP-BSP once again wants to make it very clear that in Uttar Pradesh and in the country as a whole were are not in any form of alliance or agreement with Congress. Our people should not pay heed to the rumours spread by the Congress.”

Akhilesh Yadav also endorsed BSP Chief Mayawati’s stand and asked the Congress not to create confusion.

Congress has been trying desperately to forge an alliance with the SP and BSP even after being repeatedly rejected by both SP and BSP. Congress party knows that the plan of a grand alliance or Mahagathbandhan is slowly coming apart in many States and they want an alliance with SP and BSP to work out to keep them afloat in Uttar Pradesh.
