New Delhi: Former Indian aerospace scientist, Nambi Narayanan, said that once the mission of Chandrayaan-3 achieves its mission the opportunity opened up in space by Prime Minister Narendra Modi will become more attractive. He was talking to Janam TV in an exclusive interview when he made this statement.
Nambi Narayanan said that Chandrayaan-3 is one of the major achievements in the field of India’s science and technology. America, Russia, and China have already done their lunar expeditions and have collected data. With our mission we must have a clarification on those data.
The scientist also observed that one of the aims of Chandrayaan-3 is to show that we can do it after the failure of Chandrayaan-2. This is very important. The scientists studied about the reasons and challenges of the failures of Chandrayaan-2 and have rectified it.
He mentions that the Chandrayaan-2 failed due to software and mechanical errors which led to the failure of the soft landing of the rover on the moon surface.
Nambi Narayanan remarked that the main aim of Chandrayaan-3 is to display that we can achieve soft landing on the lunar surface.
