Imphal: A report said that the police in Manipur have arrested one person in the horrific incident where two women were stripped naked and paraded during the riots in the state. The video of the incident has gone viral on social media since yesterday.

Moving quickly, the police nabbed Huirem Herodas Singh, who is seen in the video holding one of the women. He was one of the 900-1000 men who attacked a village and assaulted the women. The incident is said to have taken place on May 4, said the report. The outside world came to know of this gruesome incident only on July 19 after a video of it began circulating on social media.

According to the report, Manipuri police have said that all the main suspects seen in the video will be arrested by the night of July 20. The police have also said that a case of abduction, gang rape and murder has been registered at Nongpok Sekmai police station in Thoubal district.

The Prime Minister had earlier condemned the incident in the strictest terms and also promised stern action against the perpetrators. He said that we will not forgive them.
