New Delhi: During a BJP Parliamentary Party meeting to commemorate the 25th anniversary of the National Democratic Alliance (NDA), Prime Minister Narendra Modi conveyed messages of unity and continuity by urging members to exchange ideas and work together, carrying forward the legacy of senior BJP leaders Atal Bihari Vajpayee and LK Advani. Union Minister Pralhad Joshi shared the highlights of the meeting in a press briefing at Parliament.
PM Modi emphasised the significance of celebrating and strengthening the NDA, which has completed 25 years, as it represents the legacy of prominent leaders within the BJP. The meeting commenced with tributes to RSS ideologue Madan Das Devi, who passed away recently, as well as late MPs Girish Bapat and Rattan Lal Kataria.
In the meeting, the Prime Minister expressed confidence that during the third term of the BJP-led NDA at the Centre, India would achieve the position of the third-largest economy in the world. He highlighted the significant progress made in elevating India’s global image and committed to continuing to work in this direction.
Regarding the opposition parties’ plan to bring a no-confidence motion against the government during the ongoing Monsoon session of Parliament, Joshi dismissed their efforts, recalling how in the past, similar attempts had only resulted in the BJP winning more seats.
In response to the opposition’s constant disruptions and ruckus in Parliament over the Manipur issue, PM Modi criticised their behaviour, suggesting that they seemed content with remaining in the opposition. He emphasised the government’s commitment to work in the best interest of the public and keep moving forward. During the BJP meeting, PM Modi also made a reference to the word “India,” pointing out that it was present in various organisations’ names, including the East India Company, Indian National Congress, Indian Mujahideen, and People’s Front of India (PFI).
