New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi, during his recent address on the popular programme ‘Mann Ki Baat’, emphasised the rich cultural tapestry and unifying power of diversity in our country. In his latest address, the PM said that as the Amrit Mahotsav echoes through the nation and the 15th of August approaches, another significant campaign, titled ‘Meri Maati Mera Desh,’ is set to be launched to honour our valiant martyrs.

PM Modi informed, “Under this, many programmes will be organised across the country in the memory of our immortal martyrs. In memory of these luminaries, special inscriptions will also be installed in lakhs of village panchayats across the country. Under this campaign, ‘Amrit Kalash Yatra’ will also be organised across the country.”

He further said, “This ‘Amrit Kalash Yatra’ carrying soil in 7500 urns from every corner of the country, will reach Delhi, the capital of the country. This journey will also carry with it saplings from different parts of the country. ‘Amrit Vatika’ will be built near the National War Memorial by fusing the soil and saplings that would arrive in 7500 urns. This ‘Amrit Vatika’ will also become a grand symbol of ‘Ek Bharat Shrestha Bharat.”

In his address, PM Modi also emphasised the importance of the current rainy season for tree plantations and water conservation. He mentioned the ‘Mission Amrit Sarovar,’ launched on April 24th, 2022, aimed at harvesting and conserving water for future generations.

Highlighting the significance of traditional preservation methods, the Prime Minister mentioned that ancient scriptures and books were meticulously preserved on Bhojpatra. Notably, the Mahabharata was also written on Bhojpatra, showcasing our rich literary heritage.

Recalling the success of the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga Abhiyan’ during the previous year’s Independence Day celebrations, PM Modi urged the nation to continue the tradition of hoisting the Tricolor at every home this year as well.
