Lucknow: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath expressed his congratulations on the completion of four years since the revocation of Article 370 and 35-A in Jammu and Kashmir, using the platform X (formerly known as Twitter).
In a tweet in Hindi, Yogi Adityanath extended his felicitations, highlighting the significance of this milestone. He remarked congratulations to everyone on the completion of four years since the abolition of Article 370 and 35-A. These provisions had long nurtured and fostered separatism, terrorism, nepotism, and misgovernance in Jammu and Kashmir, casting a shadow on our national unity and integrity.” The Chief Minister went on to commend the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi for this achievement.

Adityanath further acknowledged the transformative impact of this historic decision led by Prime Minister Modi. He also noted to add that under the adept guidance of the Honourable Prime Minister, the vision of ‘One Country, One Mark, One Legislation’ was realised. Simultaneously, in harmony with the principles of ‘Sabka Saath-Sabka Vikas-Sabka Vishwas-Sabka Prayas,’ the regions of Jammu, Kashmir, and Ladakh are now witnessing unprecedented levels of development.” Adityanath emphasised that these areas are contributing significantly to the spirit of ‘Ek Bharat-Shreshtha Bharat’ (One India, Best India).
The pivotal step of revoking the special status of Jammu and Kashmir under Article 370 was undertaken by the Central Government on August 5, 2019. Concurrently, a five-judge Constitution bench of the Supreme Court commenced hearings on Wednesday to address a series of petitions challenging the abrogation of Article 370 and the subsequent division of the erstwhile state of Jammu and Kashmir. The Constitution bench includes Chief Justice of India DY Chandrachud, along with Justices Sanjay Kishan Kaul, Sanjiv Khanna, BR Gavai, and Surya.
