Bhopal: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Madhya Pradesh in the afternoon on Saturday, where he will initiate several significant projects. Notably, he will lay the foundation stone for a temple dedicated to the revered social reformer Sant Ravidas in Sagar district, with an estimated budget of Rs 100 crore.

During this visit, PM Modi will also mark the commencement of rail and road sector initiatives worth over Rs 4000 crore.

According to officials, in February of this year, Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan initially announced plans for the construction of the Sant Ravidas Temple and Memorial in Badtuma, located within the Sagar district. The temple will be designed in the Nagar architectural style and will encompass an interpretive museum highlighting the life and contributions of Sant Ravidas. This museum will be divided into four galleries, showcasing his Bhakti Marg, contributions to Nirgun Panth, his philosophical teachings, and the message of harmony.

“At around 2:15 pm, PM Modi will reach Sagar district, where he will perform Bhoomi Poojan at Sant Shiromani Gurudev Shri Ravidas ji Memorial,” PMO said in its release.

During the programme, the Prime Minister will dedicate to the nation and lay the foundation stone of rail and road sector projects worth more than Rs 4000 crores. He will also dedicate the doubling of the Kota-Bina rail route, which has been developed at a cost of more than Rs 2475 crore.

The project, which has been built at an estimated cost of more than Rs 2475 crores, passes through Kota and Baran districts in Rajasthan, and Guna , Ashoknagar, and Sagar districts in Madhya Pradesh.

Additionally, PM Modi will ceremoniously lay the foundation stone for two road projects with a combined budget of more than Rs 1580 crore. These projects encompass a four-lane road linking Morikori, Vidisha, and Hinotiya, as well as a road connecting Hinotiya to Mehluwa, as per the PMO’s official statement.

The state is set to go to Assembly polls later this year.
