New Delhi: Addressing the nation from the historic Red Fort on the 77th Independence Day, Prime Minister Narendra Modi asserted his commitment to returning to power in 2024 and outlined his vision for the country’s achievements. Speaking confidently about the upcoming five years, he emphasised that this period will witness unparalleled development and serve as a pivotal step towards realising the aspirations of 2047.

During his 10th consecutive Independence Day speech, which coincided with the anticipation of the 2024 Lok Sabha election, the Prime Minister shared a poem that urged citizens to collectively work towards fulfilling his vision of India’s development by its centennial year of freedom. The verses spoke of a continuous journey where every individual’s dreams merge into a tapestry for national progress, driven by determination and youth energy. Modi highlighted the importance of innovative strategies and the right approach in shaping the nation’s path forward.

As his address culminated, Prime Minister Modi emphasised the collective goal: to witness a fully developed India when the national flag is raised high in 2047. Notably, he shifted his tone from addressing ‘fellow citizens’ to considering the people of India as ‘family members’ (‘parivaarjan’), symbolising a deepening connection and shared responsibility.

Furthermore, the Prime Minister underscored that India’s capabilities and potential are destined to attain unprecedented levels of confidence. Reflecting on his participation in the G20 summit, he spoke of effectively showcasing India’s diverse strengths and the remarkable potential of its people. He emphasised the transformative power of reform, performance, and innovation in driving the nation’s progress. The triumvirate of demography, democracy, and diversity, he asserted, holds the key to realising India’s collective dreams.
