New Delhi: A significant technological revolution is poised to unfold in the country, propelling the tech sector to unprecedented heights. During his Independence Day address, the Prime Minister instilled confidence in the nation by asserting India’s imminent ascent to becoming the third-largest global economic power. In addition, he unveiled a promising vision for the future, announcing India’s impending entry into the realm of 6G technology.

The Prime Minister revealed an ambitious agenda for India, foreseeing the nation’s distinction as a pioneer in offering the most affordable data plans on a global scale. The forthcoming 6G era is set to redefine connectivity, boasting speeds that are a staggering 100 times faster than the current 5G infrastructure, which already provides lightning-fast internet. While 5G achieves data rates of up to 10 gigabits per second, 6G is poised to reach an astonishing one terabyte per second. With a strong emphasis on sustainability, the Prime Minister highlighted how the advent of 6G will play a pivotal role in realising long-term environmental goals.

The breathtaking capabilities of 6G are epitomized by its potential to download a hundred movies in a single minute, ushering in an era of instant, seamless access to digital content. Moreover, the realm of virtual reality is on the cusp of a transformative resurgence, promising to inject new vitality into online experiences. The Prime Minister’s address underscored the formation of a dedicated 6G task force, signalling the nation’s strategic commitment to embracing this cutting-edge technology.
