The city of Delhi is gearing up for the upcoming G20 summit, where leaders and representatives from 40 countries, including 20 member nations, will convene. The prestigious G20 Summit is scheduled to take place at the state-of-the-art Bharat Mandapam Convention Centre located at Pragati Maidan.
In preparation for this momentous event, the Delhi Metro has launched an expansive project to facilitate seamless transportation for visitors. A special offering of unlimited trips has been introduced, covering all 36 metro stations. The Tourist Smart Card, designed for the convenience of travellers, will be available from September 4th to 13th. This card is offered in two categories: one-day validity and three-day validity. In anticipation of the G20 summit, dedicated counters have been set up to distribute these cards for a ten-day period.
For those opting for the one-day validity of the Tourist Smart Card, the cost is set at ₹200. Alternatively, a three-day validity card is available for ₹500, which includes a security deposit. In addition to the regular metro stations, tourists can obtain these cards from specific stations such as Kashmir Gate, Chandni Chowk, Chavi Bazar, New Delhi, Rajiv Chowk, Patel Chowk, the Central Secretariat, Udyog Bhavan, Lok Kalyan Marg, and the Supreme Court. These measures aim to provide hassle-free and efficient transportation options for attendees and visitors during the G20 summit in Delhi.
