 ‘CassMae sings Vaishnava Jan To…’ German artist who once again captured the hearts of Indians: Prime Minister Modi

New Delhi: CassMae, a talented artist from Germany, has garnered a huge fan following in India through her rendition of Indian songs, particularly ‘Keertans’. During the 105th episode of “Mann Ki Baat,” Prime Minister Narendra Modi introduced the 21-year-old visually impaired artist to a wider Indian audience. The Prime Minister expressed pride in the fact that CassMae, who hails from Germany and has never visited India, has a deep love for Indian music and enjoys singing it.

Prime Minister has shared a video of CassMae singing the hymn ‘Vaishnava Jana To’ accompanied with the caption “Gandhi Ji’s thoughts strike a chord with people all around the world!”

Prime Minister in “Mann Ki Baat”, praised CassMae as an ‘inspiring individual.’ He remarked that it was truly heartwarming to see someone like CassMae, who hails from Germany and has never set foot in India, exhibit a deep fondness for Indian music. He found it inspiring that despite being visually impaired, CassMae’s unwavering passion for music had led her to remarkable achievements, proving that limitations could not deter her from pursuing her dreams.

CassMae’s real name is Cassandra Mae Spitman. CassMae rose to popularity from her  Instagram posts featuring her renditions of Indian songs. The German singer CassMae who is known for singing covers of south Indian songs gained widespread popularity in India after her rendition of Kantara’s cover for the hit song, “Varaha Roopam.” The actor of the movie Rishabh Shetty had then come forward praising CassMae ‘s talent.
