New Delhi: Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot’s son, Vaibhav Gehlot, has been summoned by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) for questioning regarding a case related to suspected violations of the Foreign Exchange Management Act (FEMA), according to official sources. Vaibhav Gehlot has been asked to appear at the ED’s office either in Jaipur or New Delhi on Friday.
The summons are linked to recent ED raids conducted on Rajasthan-based hospitality groups Triton Hotels & Resorts Pvt. Ltd. and Vardha Enterprises Pvt. Ltd., as well as their directors and promoters, including Shiv Shankar Sharma and Rattan Kant Sharma, among others. Rattan Kant Sharma’s alleged connections with Vaibhav Gehlot have come under scrutiny by the ED. The agency is expected to question Mr. Sharma and record his statement under the provisions of the Foreign Exchange Management Act (FEMA).
In August, the agency conducted thorough searches over three days at various locations in Jaipur, Udaipur, Mumbai, and Delhi as part of the investigation. During these searches, the ED seized unaccounted cash amounting to Rs 1.2 crore.
