New Delhi: Those who had set out to destroy Sanatan Dharma ended up destroying themselves, Vishva Hindu Parishad said on Sunday as the Congress faced an election rout in three states. This statement came in the context of the Congress party experiencing a significant electoral defeat in three states.

“Those who had set out to destroy Sanatan were forced to commit suicide…!! Hope these people who are lost for votes and stuck in appeasement will now understand the power of Sanatan??” VHP national spokesperson Vinod Bansal said on X in an apparent reference to the opposition alliance INDIA.

As the BJP surged towards victory in Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, and Chhattisgarh, solidifying its dominance in the Hindi heartland, the Congress, losing ground in Rajasthan and Chhattisgarh, sought to establish its government in Telangana.

In September, DMK leader Udhayanidhi Stalin sparked a significant political controversy with his remarks on ‘Sanatan Dharma.’ The son of Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M K Stalin alleged that ‘Sanatan Dharma’ opposes equality and social justice and advocated for its eradication. Drawing parallels between ‘Sanatan Dharma’ and diseases like coronavirus, malaria, and dengue fever caused by mosquitoes, he asserted that such elements should not be opposed but destroyed. These comments faced criticism from the BJP, Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), and their affiliated groups.
