NEW DELHI: Several prominent leaders, including Nitish Kumar, Mamata Banerjee, and Akhilesh Yadav, are not attending the I.N.D.I Alliance meeting organized by the Congress party in Delhi on December 6, resulting in its cancellation and postponement.
Initially scheduled for December 6, the meeting was planned for I.N.D.I Alliance leaders at the residence of Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge in Delhi. However, West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee, stated that she was not invited and would not attend. Subsequently, Nitish Kumar, Akhilesh Yadav, and other popular leaders also confirmed their non-attendance for the scheduled December 6 meeting.
Reports suggest that these leaders are uncomfortable with the Congress party’s poor performance in the recent assembly elections. Consequently, today, a Congress party leader announced the postponement of the I.N.D.I Alliance meeting, originally set to take place tomorrow at Mallikarjun Kharge’s residence in Delhi. However, the new date for the meeting has not yet been confirmed.
Moreover, Akhilesh Yadav accused the Congress of betrayal, alleging that the party didn’t allocate tickets for potential collaboration in Madhya Pradesh during the recent assembly elections.
