NEW DELHI: Former President Pranab Mukherjee’s daughter, Sharmistha Mukherjee, described Rahul Gandhi as politically immature. She referenced Rahul Gandhi in her newly published book titled ‘PRANAB, MY FATHER: A Daughter Remembers,’ based on Pranab Mukherjee’s diary entries and personal conversations with Sharmistha.
In her book, Sharmistha mentioned that her father, Pranab Mukherjee, remarked that ‘Rahul is very polite, but he was yet to mature politically.’ She also noted that Pranab Mukherjee advised Rahul during their meetings at Rashtrapati Bhavan.
Pranab Mukherjee advised Rahul to join the cabinet to acquire extensive political knowledge. However, Rahul never followed Pranab’s advice.
Sharmistha reveals in her book that during a meeting on March 25, 2013, Pranab observed, ‘Rahul has an interest in a diverse range of subjects but moves very quickly from one subject to another. I don’t know how much he listened and absorbed.’ This quote is from Sharmistha Mukherjee’s book.
