NEW DELHI: 13 terrorists were arrested in an ISIS terror conspiracy case from Maharashtra’s Pune today morning following searches by the National Investigation Agency (NIA) at 41 locations in Karnataka and Maharashtra.
It is reported that all the arrested are natives of Pune and have links with the Islamic State. Among the 41 locations raided since this morning, the NIA searched one place in Karnataka. In Maharashtra, the raids were conducted in Pune, Thane Rural, Thane City, and Mira Bhayandar.
According to reports, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) has uncovered a major international conspiracy and identified the involvement of foreign-based IS handlers in the case.
Earlier, the NIA had discovered an ISIS module operating in Thrissur, Kerala. The case was registered in Kerala on July 11 after the NIA received information that the terrorists were planning attacks at various places.
The NIA reported that the terrorist organizations had recruited like-minded youths into their terrorist group by conducting religious classes to wage violent jihad aimed at establishing Islamic rule in India.
