NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi convened a special meeting regarding yesterday’s parliament attack. PM Modi expressed his displeasure over the incident. Home Minister Amit Shah, Minister for Parliamentary Affairs Pralhad Joshi, Minister for Information and Broadcasting Anurag Thakur, and BJP President JP Nadda attended the meeting.
Following this, the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) constituted an inquiry committee headed by Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) Director-General, Anish Dayal Singh to investigate.
Reports indicate that the Police have arrested five persons so far in connection with the incident. It is reported that the search has intensified for the mastermind behind the incident, who is a native of Haryana.
All the arrested persons are being interrogated by the National Investigation Agency (NIA). The Lok Sabha Speaker directed the Home Ministry to reorganize the security arrangements in Parliament. It has also been decided that entry is restricted to MPs and current employees. Visitors are prohibited until further notice.
The investigation committee is being led by the CRPF Director-General Anish Dayal Singh. It has been stated that the inquiry committee will investigate the reasons for the security breach in Parliament, identify lapses, and recommend further action.
