Chennai: BJP President K Annamalai launched a scathing attack on the Tamil Nadu government, emphasizing the need for a governance change in the state. He accused the DMK government of mismanaging the Rs 25,000 crore allocated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi over the past nine years for the welfare of Tamil Nadu’s people. Speaking at the “En Mannu En Makkal” (My Land, My People) padayatra in Viluppuram district, he highlighted the crucial role of women and youth in bringing about the governance change.
Addressing the hardships faced by farmers, the diminishing livelihoods of women, and the unemployment crisis among the youth, Annamalai asserted that the BJP must come to power to address these issues. He called for collective efforts towards achieving this goal.
Annamalai criticized the state government for not implementing the central government’s development plans and alleged that the DMK government is misappropriating funds allocated by the central government. Contrary to the DMK’s claim that the Center is imposing Hindi, Annamalai highlighted Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s support for Tamil, which was evident in the Kashi Sangamam. He said that Prime Minister always emphasized the importance of using the Tamil language.
The padayatra, which saw the active participation of many people in the district, involved various BJP leaders.
