Mumbai: 13 new cases of COVID-19 were reported in Maharashtra, indicating an increase in patient numbers after a long period of decline in the state. The central government has issued directives to bolster surveillance efforts against the ongoing pandemic.
The current cases in Maharashtra stand at 24, with Mumbai having 19 of them. None of the patients have required hospitalisation, as per the state’s corona report.
Analysis of the state’s weekly data reveals a recent increase in cases. From November 22 to 27, eight cases were recorded, which surged to 14 from November 28 to December 4. The number of weekly cases further increased to 22 from December 5 to 11.
