New Delhi : The UIDAI (Unique Identification Authority of India) is set to implement passport-like physical verification when applying for Aadhaar for the first time for those above 18 years of age. Before taking the verification process through the service portal, the authenticity of the information in the applications will be checked first.
Physical verification will be implemented in collaboration with the respective state governments. Physical verification will be conducted by Nodal Officers and Additional District Magistrates appointed by the State Government.
All verification requests received through the service portal will be supervised by the Sub Divisional Magistrates. Arrangements will be made to complete the Aadhaar process within 180 days.
