New Delhi: Aditya-L1, Bharat’s first solar mission, has successfully reached its destination, announced Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The spacecraft entered the halo orbit from Lagrange Point 1 (L1). Prime Minister Narendra Modi shared this achievement on social media.
“India creates yet another landmark. India’s first solar observatory Aditya-L1 reaches its destination. It is a testament to the relentless dedication of our scientists in realizing among the most complex and intricate space missions. I join the nation in applauding this extraordinary feat. We will continue to pursue new frontiers of science for the benefit of humanity,” noted the Prime Minister on “X.”
Launched on September 2, the spacecraft covered a distance of 15 lakh kilometres over 126 days to reach Lagrange Point. With Aditya-L1 successfully achieving its destination, the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) attains the distinction of being the fourth space agency globally to accomplish this remarkable feat.
