Ayodhya: Uma Bharti and Sadhvi Ritambhara, pivotal figures in the historic Ram Temple movement, came together in Ayodhya for the Pran Pratishtha ceremony of Ram Lalla at the Shri Ram Janambhoomi Mandir on Monday.
Uma Bharti and Sadhvi Ritambhara, both significant contributors to the Ram Temple movement, shared a heartfelt moment, exchanging hugs and breaking into tears upon their reunion. The emotional meeting was filled with joy and gratitude for witnessing the long-awaited event. Both of them congratulated each other on the historic occasion, recognising their collective efforts that led to the Pran Pratishtha ceremony taking place.
Both of them, along with several prominent BJP and Sangh Parivar leaders, including L.K. Advani, Murli Manohar Joshi, and Vinay Katiyar, were charged by the CBI in the Babri Masjid demolition case. However, a special court acquitted them on September 30, 2020.
“The credit goes to Lord Ram himself. He gave us the courage and capability to fight for it. Fortunate are those who were involved in the movement. It is huge when the Lord chooses people himself. I am not able to express the feeling in words,” Sadhvi said.
Many Karsevaks, who played a crucial role in the Ayodhya movement, gathered to witness the ceremony. Emotional scenes unfolded as families of Karsevaks who sacrificed their lives for Lord Rama arrived at the function.
The Ayodhya-based Karsevaks, a passionate group advocating for the construction of the Ram temple, have been at the forefront of the movement for years. In September 1990, the Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP), the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), and the Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) united in a campaign advocating for the construction of the Ram temple at the Ram Janmabhoomi site.
