Ayodhya: Prime Minister Narendra Modi congratulated the citizens of the nation on the Pran Prathistha ceremony in Ayodhya, ushering in a new era with the establishment of the grand Ram Temple. The PM expressed heartfelt joy, declaring that Ram Lalla would no longer stay in a tent but in the gloriousness of the newly constructed temple.

He stated, “Many congratulations to all the people of the country for this auspicious occasion.” In his address, Prime Minister Modi marked January 22, 2024, as the initiation of a “kaal chakra,” asserting that this date would be remembered even after thousands of years.

“Lord Ram has finally arrived in his abode, following the wait of centuries. After the patience that we showed for centuries and the sacrifices we made, our Lord Ram has finally arrived,” the PM said.

“January 22, 2024, is not just a date but the beginning of a new era. The construction of Ram Mandir has filled people with new energy,” he said.

He said the temple had been constructed after centuries of sacrifice. “After centuries of unprecedented patience, countless sacrifices, renunciations, and penances, our Prabhu Ram has come,” he said. “Ram Lalla will not stay in a tent now. He will stay in the grand temple,” the PM added.

He said, “Lord Ram is in the soul of all citizens of Bharat” and that the entire country is celebrating Diwali today. The PM also sought forgiveness from Lord Ram for the delay in the construction of the temple.

Seeking forgiveness for the delay in temple construction, he said, “Today, I apologise to Lord Ram, as there was something lacking in our love and penance due to which the construction of the Ram Temple was not done for so many years. However, that gap has been bridged today, and I am confident that Lord Ram will forgive us.”

PM Modi expressed gratitude to the Supreme Court of Bharat, acknowledging their pivotal role in paving the way for temple construction with a verdict on November 9, 2019. He thanked the court for ensuring justice and enabling the construction of the temple in accordance with the law.

Earlier in the day, Prime Minister Modi participated in the Pran Prathistha ceremony, performing the ‘aarti’ of the Ram Lalla idol at the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Temple in Ayodhya. The idol of Ram Lalla was unveiled at the temple in the presence of the Prime Minister, who led the rituals at the Pran Prathistha ceremony.

The idol, representing the childhood form of Lord Ram, was unveiled in the main sanctum sanctorum on the ground floor. PM Modi performed ‘parikrama’ of the deity and offered ‘dandavat pranam.’ He sought blessings from the’sadhus’ present at the temple.
