In a post on ‘X,’ the Prime Minister expressed, “On National Girl Child Day, we salute the indomitable spirit and accomplishments of the girl child. We also recognise the rich potential of every girl child in all sectors. They are change-makers who make our nation and society better.”
Highlighting the government’s commitment over the last ten years, Modi stated, “Over the last decade, our government has been making many efforts to build a nation where every girl child has the opportunity to learn, grow, and thrive.”
National Girl Child Day, celebrated annually since 2008, focuses on addressing challenges faced by girls due to gender biases. The initiative aims to shift societal attitudes towards girls, emphasising the need to eradicate inequalities. It serves as a platform to promote awareness among girls about their rights, education, health, and nutrition. The day is integral to fostering an environment where girls can flourish and fulfil their potential.
