Kolkata: In an operation conducted by the Border Security Force (BSF) in Nadia district, West Bengal, a man was arrested for possession of gold biscuits. Acting on a tip-off, the BSF team conducted an inspection, leading to the arrest of the accused and the seizure of 19 gold biscuits.
The accused was attempting to smuggle gold from Bangladesh to Bharat when he was caught by BSF personnel. The seized gold is estimated to be worth Rs 2.19 crore.
BSF officials emphasized that measures are being implemented to enhance security checks, responding to the growing challenges posed by illegal smuggling in the border areas.
