Varanasi: Following the Varanasi Court’s decision permitting Hindu devotees to worship inside the Gyanvapi complex, the barricades of Vyas Ka Tehkhana (basement) were opened, allowing for the commencement of daily arti and puja early on Thursday morning.
Strict security measures have been put in place in the Gyanvapi premises to ensure a peaceful worship environment. Vishnu Shankar Jain, the lawyer representing the Hindu side, shared videos showcasing the religious rituals. The pujas were performed after cleaning the southern vault and adorning it with silk and various puja materials. According to Jain, Mangla Arti commenced at 3:30 in the morning, followed by Bhog at noon.
The Varanasi Court’s decision on Wednesday allowed Hindu devotees to offer prayers in the ‘Vyas Ka Tekhana’ area within the Gyanvapi complex. A member of the Vyas family, along with priests, conducted the puja in the basement, with district officials present to oversee the proceedings.
