New Delhi: Union Minister Rajeev Chandrasekhar has stated that Bharat has undergone a transformation from jobless to job-led growth over the past decade. He mentioned that from 2014 until the pre-Covid pandemic era, 45 million youths have been trained under various government schemes. Furthermore, he emphasized that the central government is currently focusing on enabling people to meet future requirements, including artificial intelligence, semiconductors, cyber security, and computing.

The Union Minister highlighted that prior to 2014, Bharat lacked expertise and robust systems, but they commenced their journey to success despite these shortcomings. Chandrasekhar noted that a decade ago, the total number of workers in Bharat was only 42 crores, with 30 crores among them being educated but unskilled. He added that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has prioritized skill development initiatives.

The Skill India Mission was launched to provide skill education to the youth of Bharat, the Union Minister said. Rajeev Chandrasekhar mentioned that approximately 4.5 crore youths have received quality training and secured jobs through collaborations across all central ministries. Additionally, the inclusion of skill and vocational training in the school curriculum was facilitated by the National Education Policy 2020 (NEP).
