New Delhi: Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis on Wednesday praised Bharat, stating that it is an example of how democracy can deliver stronger economic growth. During his address on the inaugural day of the ninth Raisina Dialogue, a significant event in the national capital, where he served as the chief guest, the Greek PM also spoke highly of the bilateral partnership, emphasizing its role in strengthening ties between the two nations.
The Greek Prime Minister said that elections in Bharat convincingly challenge any flawed notion that significant scale is a barrier to democracy. He stated that Bharat is an example to the world, which should be celebrated, and it demonstrates how democracy can deliver stronger economic growth.
Highlighting the historical and philosophical connections between the two countries, Mitsotakis invoked Hindu scriptures to underline the universal notion of interconnectedness. He said that he was drawing from the Hindu scriptures, which put so powerfully the concept of ‘world is one family’, and sacred Sanskrit wisdom that resonates loud and clear today. He mentioned this while speaking about ‘Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam’, advocating for Bharat’s influential role in addressing global challenges, including the situation in Ukraine and the broader quest for international stability.
