Bengaluru: The Karnataka government received an anonymous bomb threat via email, warning of a potential explosion in the city on Saturday. The email, sent under the name of a person named Shahid Khan, indicated that the blast would occur around 2:48 pm and could target various locations, including restaurants, temples, buses, trains, or any crowded place.
The email, addressed to Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar, the Home Minister, and the Bengaluru Police Commissioner, indicated the possibility of bomb blasts during public events. Additionally, the email demanded a ransom of 2.5 million dollars (over 20 crore rupees) to prevent the blast.
In response, the police have initiated an independent investigation, registering a case to address the threat.
