Kollam: The Crime Branch has charged the colleagues involved in the suicide case of Assistant Public Prosecutor (APP) Aneeshya S from the Munsiff Magistrate Court in Paravur, Kollam, with abetment of suicide.
Relatives had earlier stated that Aneeshya committed suicide because she was unable to tolerate insults and mental torture from her colleagues and higher officials. The investigation team also found audio clips confirming this.
Before committing suicide, Aneeshya sent voice messages to her friends via WhatsApp, revealing that she could not bear the mental torture from her superiors and colleagues. According to the voice messages, she was humiliated by her superiors through the public disclosure of confidential reports and ill-treatment. The voice messages also indicate that she was unable to cope with the mental stress and contemplated taking her own life.
Initially, the police had only registered a case of unnatural death. Several complaints were raised by her relatives that even after a month of Aneeshya’s death, the police had not taken action against her colleagues. Following this, the case was handed over to the Crime Branch.
After examining the evidences, the Crime Branch submitted the reports to the Paravur Court, charging the colleagues with the offense of abetment of suicide.
According to police records, Aneeshya was found dead by hanging in the bathroom of her house on January 21st around 11:30 am.
