Critics of PM’s Christmas feast now attend SDPI’s Iftar party: BJP state president exposes CPI(M) hypocrisy

Thiruvananthapuram: The attendance of CITU state general secretary Elamaram Kareem at an Iftar party hosted by SDPI has sparked a heated debate, with BJP state president K Surendran accusing CPI(M) of hypocrisy. Surendran pointed out the irony of those who previously criticized Christian priests for attending the Prime Minister’s Christmas party now participating in an event hosted by a banned organization.

Surendran lambasted Elamaram Kareem, describing him as the brain behind the CPI(M)’s  and a frequent candidate of the party in elections. He sarcastically remarked on the irony of Kareem’s attendance at SDPI’s Iftar, suggesting a connection to the disappearance of important documents related to the Abhimanyu murder case.

The Prime Minister’s previous hosting of a Christmas feast for bishops and other representatives had drawn criticism from left party leaders, including Kerala Minister Saji Cherian.  He criticized the bishops for allegedly favoring BJP leaders, suggesting they easily forget everything in exchange for hospitality. CPI State Secretary Binoy Viswam, Member of Parliament, said that the bishops who participated in the event should read the writings of MS Golwalkar regarding Christians.

The Prime Minister’s Christmas feast, aimed at fostering unity among Christian groups, hosted a diverse array of attendees, including church representatives and industry leaders, totaling 60 guests.
