Kollam: A case has been registered against SFI activists for obstructing the election campaign programme of Kollam NDA candidate Krishna Kumar, resulting in a conflict. The police have charged the case for joining an unlawful assembly armed with weapons under IPC section.

The incident took place yesterday when Krishna Kumar visited the Government ITI Chandanathope, Kollam, as part of his election campaign. A group of SFI activists attempted to halt his campaign speech. Based on complaints filed by the ABVP Union and NDA members, a case was registered against 7 individuals and 10 students. The charges include joining an unlawful assembly armed with weapons and wrongful restraint.

Despite attempts by SFI activists to obstruct him, Krishna Kumar completed his speech. During his address, he responded to the SFI violence by stating that violence would never provide a solution, urging students to keep this in mind. He questioned why students should uphold enmity while candidates maintain good relationships with each other.

He also stated that the SFI activists are engaging in entirely violent politics. He reiterated that educational institutions should not be venues for such violent politics.
