Thrissur: A TTE (Traveling Ticket Examiner) was killed after being pushed out of a moving train at Velappaya in Thrissur district. The incident occurred around 7 pm on Tuesday.
The deceased has been identified as TTE K Vinod, a native of Manjummel, Ernakulam, who was reportedly run over by another passing train. Odisha native Rajnikanth has been arrested by Palakkad Railway Police and handed over to the Thrissur Railway Protection Force (RPF) in connection with the incident. Sections including IPC-302 (Murder) have been charged against him. The FIR states that the accused pushed the TTE with the intention of killing him.
According to reports, the accused Rajnikanth was traveling without a ticket in the S11 coach of the Ernakulam – Patna Express. An altercation broke out between Rajinikanth and TTE K Vinod after he was asked to show his ticket. Enraged by this, Rajinikanth thrashed the TTE and pushed him from the train. Footage of the altercation between the accused and the TTE is also circulating on social media. The accused, who was reportedly drunk, was brought under control by fellow passengers and handed over to the Palakkad RPF.
Meanwhile, the post-mortem of K Vinod will be conducted at Thrissur Medical College, and the body will be brought to his residence in Manjummel, Ernakulam, in the afternoon. Vinod, who was a technician in a Diesel Loco Shed, shifted to the TTE cadre two years ago. He has also acted in films, playing the side role in the movie “Nalla Nilavulla Ratri” and appearing in films such as “Joseph,” “Pulimurugan,” and “Antony.”
